Skeeter was born in St. George, GA on March 30, 1941. He worked at Florida Wire and Cable in Sanderson FL until retirement. He was an avid bass fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his Wife Diana Cassaro. His children, Ernie Gainey Jr, Clay (Andrea) Gainey, Michele (Jon) Best, Michael (Patty) Dukes. His siblings, Chuck Gainey, Ray Gainey, Mitchell (Sharon) Gainey, Mike (Debbie) Gainey, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Matilda Gainey. His daughter, Lori Moody and grandson Kyle Moody. Daughter in law, Lynn Gainey. Siblings, Joe Gainey, Johnny Gainey, Tommy Gainey, Barbara Yonn, Vivian Page, Francis Gainey, Bill Gainey, Gene Gainey.
