Marion Letchworth lived with an open heart, a lively spirit, and a deep faith in God. Kind and generous, she was always ready to lend a hand—and she had a gift for making the most of every moment. Strong-willed and wonderfully free-spirited, Marion enjoyed life on her own terms, never letting others’ opinions keep her from being herself.
For many years, she gave her time and care as a passionate volunteer with the USO. She also served in the collections department at Baptist Hospital, where she worked until her retirement. Her dedication to helping others was not simply part of her work or volunteer service; it was part of who she was.
A devoted Christian, Marion was a member of Good News Baptist Church, where her faith remained a steady source of strength and comfort. She carried that faith through life’s joys and sorrows, including the losses of her beloved husband, William V. Letchworth, who passed away many years before her, and her daughter, Cindy L. Peters, who died a few years ago.
Marion was born to Charles A. Pinkston (1916–1999) and Eloise B. Pinkston (1901–1983), whose love and influence were part of the foundation of her life.
Those who knew Marion will remember her warmth, her generous heart, her independence, and her unmistakable zest for living. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and joy—a reminder to meet each day fully, help where you can, and be true to yourself.
