Marion Rose West

WEST…..Marion Rose West, 79, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. A devout Christian and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. West had great vitality and generosity throughout her life. She was an active member of her church and a volunteer in local schools, and enjoyed studying and sharing God’s word, sewing and quilting, walking, camping and hiking with family, and visits to family and friends. A native of Birmingham, England, Mrs. West married John Webb West, Jr. in Miami in 1956. They relocated to Jacksonville in 1983. Mrs. West was predeceased by her husband of 44 happy years. She is survived by daughters, Rosina Stevenson (Harold), Jeanie West Cardenas, and Lovell West (Alberto); sons, Peter West (Kelley), Robert West (Ruth), and Gerald West (Andrea); sister, Beryl Underhill; brother, Ivor Underhill (Carole); grandchildren, Jaime (Brock), Angela Rose, Isabel, Jonathan, Jeremy, Dalia, and Nerea; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Liv, and Bridger.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Arlington United Methodist Church. At 2:00 there will be a memorial service celebrating Mrs. West’s life, with Rev. Larry Shields officiating. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, Waynesville, NC.
