George and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to Sam's entire family and everyone who loved him.
Sam was very special to George - as George was to him. They were always there in an instant when one needed the other. I will never forget watching Sam the first time I met him - he scurried up a very tall pine tree like a monkey :) I asked 'who is that???' He might fall. George says, 'No, that's Sam....he lives to climb trees and could do it blindfolded' I was simply amazed at his quickness, agility and falling limbs/trees in a perfect way as they should fall. I was also struck by his humility and his manners when I first met him in 2009 or so....George knew him way before the day I met Sam. I will never forget you Sam - your gentle and humble nature is not common among all people you meet. I will always remember also your pet squirrel you introduced me to while Sherry showed me so many gorgeous flowers and always gave me a cutting. You were so tender to all critters and cared so much for them; I will never forget you.
We know you are with the Lord, as you shared with George your faith in Jesus. That is a great comfort.
With much Love,

Vicki&George Dukes

He was the best of the best of what he loved to do. He helped anyone who needed help. We will surely miss him more than words can ever say. Him & Sherry are a part of my family. You don't have to have the same blood to love someone. I know he's with God, no more pain. Rest in peace till we all meet again.

Way to many memories to type. Way to many things to laugh about. Sam made my life bearable when I needed someone and he never even knew it. We shared a million laughs with that goofy laugh he had and lived some of the best times of our lives together. I couldn't have asked for more. Rest in peace. Your friend through eternity. Patrick

Amanda we are so very sorry for the loss of your Daddy. The world has lost a true adventurer. There was nothing he couldn’t climb, and he has seen parts of this city from places no one could imagine. He loved nature and all its critters (especially his squirrels). Sam had a heart of gold and was both kind and generous to all who knew him. Now he is free and soars with the eagles. God rest your soul friend💔💔💔 Love- John & Laurie
