Mark Spann, 45, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on September 21, 2010. He was born on December 11, 1964 in Heidelberg, Germany to Thomas E. Spann and Gertrud Krapp Spann. He is survived by his mother Gertrud, and by his sister Jeanette (Blane). Mark had many friends, from a broad range of backgrounds and interests. He had a large collection of unique and rare music, and he was an expert in the diverse genre of heavy metal / metal rock. He loved comic book culture and playing tabletop miniature wargames. Mark was also a very creative and artistic person who enjoyed drawing. He found relaxation in painting finely detailed gaming figures. Mark loved nature, animals and outdoor activities like biking and kayaking. He was employed with Carolina Casualty Insurance as a computer operator. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, Jacksonville, Florida.
