Marsha Royal Goodin a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother and cherished friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2026 at the age of 81. Born in Ambrose, Georgia on June 24, 1945, Marsha lived a life defined by her deep faith, dedication to her family and a warm, welcoming spirit that touched everyone she met.
Marsha was a proud graduate of Ribault Senior High School. During her high school years she loved being a cheerleader, competed on the bowling team and was honored to be selected as a Ribault Key Club Sweetheart.
Following graduation, Marsha began her professional career at Prudential Life Insurance. She worked there until she and her husband started a family, Marsha then chose her most cherished role as a full-time mother. She then devoted her time, love and energy to her husband and two children. Later in life, Marsha returned to the workforce, bringing her sharp skills and professionalism to her roles as a legal assistant with Attorneys Kattman and Eschelman and later working as a Customer Service Representative for Dwight Bacon Insurance.
A woman of profound faith, Marsha was an active and devoted member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. Her faith was put into action every Sunday as she proudly served as a church greeter, welcoming members and visitors alike at the door with her beautiful smile and kind heart.
Marsha was married for 50 wonderful years to the love of her life, John W. Goodin Sr., before his passing. She was also preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Mitzye Scates.
Her legacy of love and a follower of Christ will live on through her family. She is survived by her children, John W. Goodin Jr. (Karen) and Christina Snyder (Sam). Marsha was a profoundly loving grandmother who adored her grandchildren: Mason, Jacob, Michael (Kahla), John (Abigail), Jordan, Katie, Jenna and Joe. She was also the proud great-grandmother of five, with two more precious great grandchildren on the way.
Marsha’s warmth, devotion and unwavering faith leave an unforgettable mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and resting peacefully in eternity.
Marsha’s service will be held at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main St., Jacksonville, FL. 32218 on September 3rd, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location at 11:30.
A Committal Service will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL. 32218 on September 3rd, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
