Martha M. Lancaster, 85, of Jacksonville, passed away February 3, 2015. Born April 27, 1929, a daughter of the late, Bob Martin and Uneeta A. Martin. In 1947, Martha graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. She held a professional career as a banker at Atlantic National Bank, First Union and Wachovia National Bank before retiring after 34 years as V.P. Martha leaves behind her children: daughter, Karen L. Love (James L.) and son, Virgil G. “Buster” Lancaster (Suzanne K.); grandsons, Adam R. Lancaster (Lesley) and Andrew C. Lancaster; and sister-n-law, Shirley Martin. In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her sister, Jean Timmerman (J.B.); brother, Thomas Martin; and sister-in-law, Betty Martin.
Per Martha’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Martha always wanted to be a Florida Gator so she made arrangements to have her body donated to the University of Florida Medical School. To remember Martha, Buster and Karen would like to invite her friends and family to attend “one of Martha’s parties,” Sunday, February 15 from 2-4 at her home. In the spirit of Martha’s memory, have a happy story to share to celebrate her life.
