Martin Bocian

Martin Bocian, 76, of St. Augustine, formerly of Valley Stream, NY, passed away on November 27, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital. Martin was born on March 25, 1935 in New York, NY to the late Seymour and Esther (Bordowitz) Bocian. Martin retired from the New York Department of Social Services as an Administrator after 33 years of service. He was a very dedicated worker and spent his whole career working in the Foster Care System. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara Bocian of St. Augustine, FL. Additional survivors include his son, Corey Bocian; his daughter, Elissa Bocian; his 3 grandchildren, Jon, Nicole, and Shawn Bocian, all of Jacksonville; and his cousin, Warren Hirsch of Brooklyn, NY. Martin was preceded in death by his son, Randy Bocian. Martin’s family would like to extend their thanks to Coty Simons for her devotion, care, and compassion she gave to Martin and his family. Burial and services were held in Cape Coral, FL. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Martin to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, DC 20024-2126.
