Mary Picus Cohn

Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Mary was the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (O'Brien) Picus. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1945. After High School, she received her RN degree at the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Mary went into a Nursing career by first in private practice in Jacksonville, and then became a Corporate Nurse with Blue Cross /Blue Shield of Jacksonville, Florida on Riverside Avenue. After 29 years of loyal service, she retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield in 1990.

Mary enjoyed working on table and crossword puzzles, and watching football with her dog by her side. She was the proud Niece of a famous baseball player, John Picus “Jack” Quinn, who played for several major league teams from 1909 until 1933.

Mary is survived by her three sons, Ronald H. Cohn "Buck" Jr.(Marianne) of Columbia, South Carolina, Gregory A. Cohn (Brenda) of St Augustine, Florida, and Stuart L. Cohn of St. Charles, Missouri. She also leaves behind Grandsons, Alan Cohn (Keli), Christopher Cohn (Colleen) and Alex Cohn; Great - Grandchildren, Makenzie, Kennady and Camden Cohn along with numerous Nieces and Nephews.

There will be a private service for family at a later date.
