Mary Rose Collins

COLLINS-Mary Rose (Kessler) Collins, 85, met her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Born May 16, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was predeceased by her loving husband Emmett Richard, parents A.G. and Seb Kessler, and brothers Bill and Jerry. Survivors include her son Emmett Richard Jr. (“Dick”), daughter-in-law Lisa, grandsons Stewart and Scott, and eleven nieces and nephews. A graduate of Seton High in Baltimore, Mary Rose was a 1947 graduate of The Ohio State University where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was an avid Buckeye fan and followed Ohio State football faithfully. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church since moving to Jax in 1971. Mary Rose worked at Peninsular Insurance Co. for 8 years. Visitation on Friday, June 17, 5:30 to 8 p.m., with the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m., at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 18 at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Church, 3383 University Blvd. N., with Fr. Mike Pendergraft, Celebrant, followed by interment at Chapel Hills Memory Garden, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N. Reception for family and friends follows at Resurrection Church Hall.
