She is survived by her husband, Robert, her children Ariella (Adam) Reisner of Sherman Oaks, CA. and Craig (Hagit) Goodman of Netanya, Israel, 5 grandchildren (Talia, Zachary, Eli, Shira and Noa), her brother David (Terry) Rubin, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Mary and Bob moved to Jacksonville in July, 2009 after living in Brandon, Florida and in Miami. They were married on April 7, 1979 and lived in Chicago before moving to Miami in 1991. Mary spent many years as a freelance writer as well as working with Rubin Brothers. She served as Chicago section President of National Council of Jewish Woman as well as a member of the national board. Despite the fact that she carried a burden of health problems for the past 30 years, she had a knack for reaching out to others with caring, kindness and seemingly infinite wisdom. As many of her dear friends here in Jacksonville, as well as many others will attest, Mary had a knack to connecting her heart to others. She truly touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be truly missed.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Congregation Ahavath Chesed, 8727 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32224. Burial will follow in King David Cemetery inside Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Rebecca Goodman Fund for Mental Health Discovery at the Mayo Clinic (c/o Mayo Clinic Development Office, 4500 San Pablo Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32224) or Congregation Ahavath Chesed (8727 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32217).
