Mary Elaine Krings was born on January 6, 1929, in St Paul, MN. In her early education, she attended St. Agnes High School, where she met her husband, Jack Krings. They were married on June 18, 1949, and they raised a beautiful family of four boys and four girls. She was sharing a mutual life that strengthened each of their 72 years. Having relocated several times in the Midwest, Jack’s career landed them in Jacksonville in 1977. She enjoyed Florida sunshine, warmth, and blue sky while maintaining close contact with family and friends but still reminiscing snow shovels.
Mary was a dedicated wife and mother. As well she was a diligent worker, homemaker, and medic. Always ensuring the house was a home. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, and crafts, even pursuing a career at Hope Haven later on in her life after the children began families of their own. Though she loved some tasks less, she never complained; Mary always wore a smile and passed her smile along to all those she encountered. No one went hungry, wore dirty clothes, or missed a kiss as long as she was around.
This caring wife, compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and devote Catholic was peacefully received into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021, with a loving family at her side. Mary is blessed with eight children and 19 grandchildren - Kathy: husband Horst; Jeanne (preceded): husband Greg (preceded), children Chris and Jeff; John (preceded): wife Barbara, children Michelle, Tim, and David); Steve: wife Judy, children Mary Kay, Jack and Tom; Dennis: children Adam and Mary; Joe: wife Teresa, children Mallory and Stacey; Mary Ann: husband Jeff, children Melissa, Jeffrey Ryan, Marshall, Dustin and Maggie and Carolyn (preceded): children Nick and Brooke, along with 17 great-grandchildren.
She is not gone but instead transformed into an angel that will be called upon daily. May her spirit and impact continue to live.
