

Mary Virginia McCormack, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at her home on 17 July 2024. Her passing was sudden and unexpected but peaceful. She was the fulfillment of the adage, “to know her was to love her”. She loved, was loved and is loved by many, many people. Everyone who knew Mary was blessed by her kindness, compassion and outgoing love. In her 71 years she travel the country as a keynote speaker and consultant on Volunteer Management, visiting over 38 States and presenting at an international peace conference. She retired from Nemours Children’s Specialty Clinic in 2018. Mary loved jewelry design and teaching others how to make jewelry. She was even in the midst of creating her own home studio. She loved cruising and traveling with her husband on over 55 cruises. Before all else, Mary loved God. She was a spiritual person, as well as religious, and found joy in participating in activities at Arlington Congregation Church. After God, her family was everything. Mary was preceded in death by her mother Billie Elmore, her brother Gary Elmore and her father Mansfield Elmore, all of Sanford, North Carolina. She is survived by her sister Ann Meredith Letchworth. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Patrick McCormack and sons Shaun Olynick and his wife Megan and children, Ryan Olynick, Jameson McCormack and Jason McCormack and his wife Debra and children. Mary is deeply loved and missed by her 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, husband, sons and sister. In lieu of flowers, please donate to charities benefiting cancer patients, as to how she was a cancer survivor. There will be a Celebration of Life for Mary at 2:00 PM on 10 August 2024 at Arlington Congregational Church in Jacksonville, FL.
