Mary Brinkman New, 86, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away September 25, 2011 at Taylor Care Center. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina. Shortly after birth Mary moved to Jacksonville with her family and has made Jacksonville her home. She graduated from Landon High School in 1942. From 1945 through 1946 she served in the U.S. Marine Corp in Washington, D.C.. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey New, sister Doris Rholfing and step-son Nicholas Mark New. Survivors include her sons Geoffrey New and Gregory (Susan) New; brother, Jim Brinkman (Barbara) and grandson Jason New. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2011 in the Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home 4300 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Pastor David Charlton officiating.
