

Max David Hedgecoth, 81, passed away on February 25, 2021 at the Community Hospice Center of Northeast Florida. He is survived by his wife Norma, his children, (Cara) Michelle Barry (John) of Jacksonville, Florida, Gina Coluzzi (Mark), of Fairfax, Virginia, David Hedgecoth of Columbus, Ohio, and granddaughters Adah and Kate Coluzzi of Fairfax, Virginia. Born in Spring City, Tennessee, he was raised on the Cumberland Plateau, graduated from Cumberland County High School and attended Tennessee Technological University for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Max was a 36-year veteran teacher of Duval County Public Schools where he began as a physical education resource teacher and joined the full-time faculty at Windy Hill Elementary in 1980. He retired from DCPS in 2000.
