Maximina Diaz Colon, 79, of Saint Johns, FL, was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico to Santos Diaz and Sixta Colon. Maximina was the most amazingly devoted, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister-in-law. She dedicated her life to raising her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was loving and caring to everyone that crossed her path. Our mother opened her heart and doors to the world. She loved her music, dancing, family gatherings, cooking, and cleaning. She was strong, stubborn, and very independent to her last breath. If there were one word to sum up our mother it would be “FAMILY.” Surviving family members include her four sons Reinaldo, Santos, Jaime, and Felipe; two daughters, Gloria and Lisette; brother, Jose Angel; two sisters, Rosa and Carmen; twenty grandchildren, Jason, Olga, Ray, April, Christopher, Jake, Julius, Tristian, Luis, Samantha, Joslin, Austin, Skylar, Marlene, Justin, Alex, Joseph, Maxine, Dominicc, and Nicholas, as well as her twelve great-grandchildren, Jason, Isaiah, Amber, Richie, Kayla, Katelyn, Austin, Janine, Sheila, Aiden, Arruis, and Zaidie. A Celebration of Maximina’s Life will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, May 29th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Memorial contributions are preferred to Community Hospice of NE Florida or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
