

May Cadoura Mardini was born on August 24, 1940 and passed away on October 12, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Khalil and Yasmine Cadoura. She is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Zohair Mardini, her daughters: Hanada Owais (Asad), Howaida Mousa (Jimmy), Hanya Farah (Jim), and Hala Salman (Waddah); ten grandchildren, and seven sisters.
May immigrated to the U.S. with her family and settled in Jacksonville with her husband, who were the founders of Hala’s Cafe. May was a great supporter to her husband in their business, as well as being very active in the Ramallah Club of Jacksonville, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, and the local Ramallah community.
May enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and her sisters. She and her husband were always excited to travel together to visit places around the world. May was a very giving person, who had a gift of making sure you knew how she felt about you. She will always be remembered for her compassion toward her husband and entire family. She was a strong woman, who had courageously fought cancer for many years.
The family gratefully acknowledges all those who sent their condolences. The family will receive visitors between 6:00p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October, 16, 2011 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 6300 Bowden Rd. immediately followed by the Trisagion Service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the same location with Father Kamal Al-Rahil officiating. Internment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery at 4801 San Jose Boulevard. Funeral arrangements by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church (www.jaxorthodox.org).
