Mercedes G. Sullivan

Mercedes Gutierrez Sullivan, 75, lifelong resident of Jacksonville, passed away May 22, 2010. She was born October 11, 1934, daughter of the late Cesar and Mercedes Angelina (Tamargo) Gutierrez. She graduated from Andrew Jacksonville High School in the class of 1952 and attended Jacksonville University.

Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, John Sullivan, a daughter, Meghan (Tom) LeBlanc of Tampa, FL, a son, John D. Sullivan of Jacksonville, a grandson, Luke LeBlanc of Tampa, a sister, Kathleen Lloyd of SC, and other dear relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, from 6 – 8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Resurrection Catholic Church, N. University Blvd., Jacksonville. Fr. Jason will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations in her name be made to Community Hospice of NE FL.
