Meta Estelle Stanley

Meta Stanley, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 23, 2018. She was born on Jun. 28, 1927 in Summerfield, FL, the daughter of Thomas and Ruby (Scarborough) Clyburn. An active member of Mandarin United Methodist Church, she discipled and led many to Christ through her teaching and witness. Her life was a testament to her faith. An avid photographer, poet and author, she wrote, produced and performed in the play Women of the Bible for 23 years. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Daniel Stanley; 6 children: Claudia Lefkowitz (Bill), Marsha McGugan (Pat), Rick Stanley (Scott Galloway), Andrea Foord, Mike Stanley (Chasity), Trish Berryman (Peter); 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her sister, Eva Miriam Brown of Zephyrhills, FL. Her family wishes to thank the team at Community Hospice & Palliative Care and her caregivers Diane, Carol, Michelle, Stephanie and all those that loved, prayed, and provided food during the last months of her life. The celebration of her life will be held at Mandarin UMC on Sat., Feb. 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM, with a reception following.
