Michael "Mike" Edward Brooks

Michael passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born April 8, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was a lifelong resident. Mike was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend. A longtime member of Arlington Masonic Lodge #309, Morocco Shrine Temple, known to many as “Uncle Mike” as an advisor for the International Order the Rainbow Girls of Florida, he enjoyed helping others, love of all sports, The Georgia Bulldogs, and his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marion E. & Barbara Breen Brooks; the mother of daughter, Sharon Bennett Brooks; brother in law, Rutt Bennett; and a nephew, Rudlin Bennett. Mike is survived by his daughter, Kelly Chatterton; his beloved grandson, Trevor Chatterton; his sisters, Patricia Carter, Jan Brooks, and Beth (Bart) Woolsey, sister and brother in law, Evie (Pat) McCoy; his companion, Debbie Alvarez; her daughter, Amy (Jason) Hall; her grandchildren, Noah (Irina) Hall, Jesse Hall and Sydni Hall; great granddaughter, Charlotte Hall; nieces & nephews, Chris Marlier, Ashley (JR) Casto, Alex (Josh) Murray, Benjamin Bennett, Chelsey (Tommy) Goodman; great nieces & nephews; and his dog, Finley Jack.

The family ask in lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital of your choice or the American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 14th from 6-8pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211.
