Michael M. Greathead, 28, passed away October 24, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. Michael was born in Jacksonville, graduating from Bartram Trail High School, class of 2005. He played baseball for 14 years for the Mandarin Sports Association. Michael will be remembered his willingness to help others and for his beautiful smile and dimples. Michael is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ron Blatt, and his uncle Mike Greathead. Michael is survived by his parents, Bill (Sandy) and Karen; grandparents, Jim and Julie Greathead and Claudia Blatt; step-brothers Patrick and Adam Kelly; aunts, Joanne Tomlinson, Abigail Legg (Gary), Tracy Darden (Alan); uncle, Ron “Jay” Blatt (Kathy); cousins, Sam Padgett, Christine Tomlinson, Matthew Darden, and Carissa Romero (Jimmy); great-aunts and uncles, Philip and Janet Greathead, Pete and Elda Greathead, and Anne Sullivan. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s name to the charity of your choice.
