Born on May 6, 1939, in Teaneck, New Jersey, to Roy and Mary Yeoman, Mike was a devoted son, beloved husband, cherished father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal patriot who served his country with honor.
A graduate of Tenafly High School, Mike joined the United States Navy in 1959. He served with distinction for over 20 years, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer Radioman (E7). His career included deployments aboard and the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany during pivotal moments in country such as the Vietnam-era naval history.
After retiring from military service, Mike began a second career with Copytronics in Jacksonville, Florida, where he repaired and maintained copy machines for 25 years until retiring in 2004. Never one to remain idle, he worked part-time with Enterprise Rent-A-Car until his final retirement in 2009.
In 1960, Mike married the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Wells. Their 64-year marriage was filled with strength, love, and laughter as they raised a family and navigated life’s many chapters—from cross-country military relocations to finally settling in Jacksonville.
Mike enjoyed golf, visiting the shooting range, and spending quiet weekends at home in his favorite recliner. He found joy in simple pleasures and took great pride in his family and service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Yeoman. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Yeoman; daughters Deborah Sitterson (Woody) and Lisa Register (Randy); sons Michael G. Yeoman (Susan) and Paul Yeoman (Kathryn); 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mike will be laid to rest with military honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL.
