

Mildred Webb Butcher of Jacksonville passed away peacefully on March 11, 2015. She and her twin brother Milton were born at home on May 27, 1928 to parents James T. Webb and Alice M. Webb. Mildred attended local schools and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1946, at which time she was employed by The Federal Reserve Bank. Throughout her youth she was involved with Franklin Street Baptist Church, Girl Scouts of America and enjoyed working in her parent’s grocery store with Milton “dippin” ice cream for spending money.
Mildred married Ralph R. Butcher “Ron” on October 11, 1952 and walked life’s path together until Ron passed away days short of their 53rd anniversary. They spent their years together devoted to their family, boating throughout Florida and traveling across the states in their motorhome.
She is predeceased by her parents and brothers Tobie, Lynwood and Milton. She is survived by daughter Alyce and Richard Tuten, son Rodney and Vicki Butcher, granddaughters Rhonda, Katie and Jenna and three great grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery on Saturday, March 14, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Terry Gore officiating. The family requests donations be made to Franklin Street Baptist Church or Community Hospice of North East Florida.
