Mildred (Pete) Frances Maxwell, age 88, passed away on February 12, 2025. She was born on January 28, 1937, in Valdosta, Georgia to George R. Dennis and Remmie M Terrell. Mildred is survived by her children, Christine Maxwell, Carol Yuvonne Lastinger and husband Sammy, Frederick Eugene (Gene) Maxwell Jr. and wife Angila, and Stephanie Marie Maxwell (Scott Kauffman), along with 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick E. Maxwell Sr. and her son, Timothy Michael Maxwell. Mildred is dearly remembered by her beloved family and friends. Mildred dedicated 40 years of service as a bank teller before retiring and was a cherished member of Southpoint Baptist Church. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Mildred will be laid to rest alongside the love of her life at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
A visitation for Mildred will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., with a funeral service at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
