

Miriam Carolyn Lewis, 88, passed away May 30, 2026, in St. Augustine, Florida. Born on May 13, 1938, Miriam lived a full and vibrant life marked by her deep spirituality, love for family and friends, and passion for creating joy around her.
Miriam attended Alfred Dupont High School and Jacksonville University. She was married to her devoted husband of 68 years, Herman. Together they raised three sons: Charles (Jennifer), Chris (Georgina), and Jeffrey. Miriam was also the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren—Jillian (Matt), Kelsey, Stephen, Emily, Christopher (Rebecca), Amelia, George Herman, and Tiffany—and one great-granddaughter Carmen. She is also survived by her brother Charles (Carolyn). She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Audrey Arnold, and her sister Susan Arnold.
A woman of many talents and interests, Miriam had a flair for interior design and a gift for entertaining. She loved throwing memorable parties that brought people together. Her faith was central to her life; she was an active member of The Village Church in World Golf Village and participated in ladies Bible study. Miriam also enjoyed playing mahjong with friends and cheering passionately for the Florida Gators football team.
A celebration of Miriam’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at The Village Church located at 4229 Pacetti Rd., St. Augustine, FL 32092. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care at www.thefoundationcares.org/give.
