Musa Yacoub Hanania, beloved husband and father, passed peacefully July 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ramallah, Palestine February 11, 1927 and moved to Buffalo, New York in 1957. After the birth of his first grandchild he took the opportunity to move his family to Jacksonville, Florida. He opened up a deli where he was known as Nemo, which he ran with his wife, Hind, and family. After 50 years, Musa and Hind retired and spent their time being around their kids and grandchildren. Musa and Hind would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary next week on July 24th. He was a supportive and charitable member of the Ramallah American Club of Jacksonville and St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Yacoub and Nazha Hanania; his brother, George Hanania and sister Farideh Salem. He is survived by his wife Hind; his brothers Issa, Fred, and Jamal; and sister Mary Bateh; his 4 children, Hanania, Hanan (Sam) Nancy (Ron), and David (Tania); 11 grandchildren, and soon to be 9 great-grandchildren.
The Trisagion Service will be held Thursday July 19th at 7pm at the St. George Orthodox Church located at 6300 Bowden Rd. The family will receive visitors at 6pm. The funeral, also at St. George Orthodox Church, will be at 10am Friday, July 20th with the Very Reverend Archpriest Father Kamal A-Rahil, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery on Beach Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. George Orthodox Church.
