She devoted her life to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved her little dog Nala. Later in life she worked as a secretary for the Florida State Board of Nursing. She enjoyed watching golf, flowers and her yard, and her beautiful home. She loved to sing and write poetry. She was a member of the Storytellers League of Jacksonville, but the story she loved telling most was about her stroke that almost ended her life in 1988. While recovering at home, she watched a Billy Graham Crusade on TV and asked Jesus to become her Savior. She became a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida for over 20 years. She loved her church and her precious ladies Sunday School Class. She spoke before church groups, hospitals, and nursing homes. She portrayed characters from the Bible, gave testimony, and humorous talks to encourage others. She never used any notes. She only referred to a small card with one handwritten word, "unworthy ". She wanted others to know God's love and grace. She would always say, "Jesus is my best friend".
Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, her family, and her friends. We are comforted knowing she is with her best friend. She lives, has peace and joy and we will see her again. This is a private service per the family's request.
