Nancy Dunaway Stanford

Nancy Dunaway Stanford, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Nellie Elizabeth Harvill and William C. Harvill. Nancy was born in Augusta, Georgia and graduated from Richmond Academy High School, as Salutatorian. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida to marry Ronald F. Stanford. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronald, their two children, Kenneth A. Stanford and Kathleen S. Shaw (Cliff) and two grandchildren, Kristen and Daniel Shaw. She was also survived by her sister, Linda Strother (Rodney) and eight nieces and nephews.

She continued her education, while raising a family becoming a Registered Nurse, a profession she worked in for 20 years in Jacksonville. Nancy was an active member of Southside Baptist Church for more than 55 years and served faithfully in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and many other church ministries. She dearly loved her family, friends, pets, traveling, and her church.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 2:00pm at Southside Baptist Church, 1435 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Inc. and Southside Baptist Church.
