Mike was born in Jacksonville, Florida but raised in and spent most of his life in Callahan, FL. He graduated from West Nassau High School in 1990 and enlisted in the Army shortly after as a Heavy Wheel Mechanic and Military Police. While stationed in Pennsylvania he met his former wife and after a second tour in Korea (his favorite duty station) he brought his family back to Callahan.
He worked a variety of jobs in the warehousing and logistics industry including King Provisions and Merita Bakery, but, as the living embodiment of a free spirit as well as an artist and history buff, none suited him as well as his last job working with his father at their antique store, Oliver’s Outpost.
During his considerable free time, Mike enjoyed drawing, writing, riding motorcycles, and spending as much time as possible with his friends and family.
He leaves behind two children, Nathaniel Oliver Mabry and Amanda Rae Mabry, his mother Lynn Buske and father Oliver Mabry, sister Gina McGee, brothers Sean Mabry and Matthew Yates, aunt Kaye Baker, as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family and innumerable friends. He also leaves behind his long-time girlfriend Ginger Rogers, to whom our family is forever indebted and endeared for the love she gave him in life and the care she provided him in his final days.
A visitation service will be held at 10:00 am at Corey Kerlin Funeral Home in Jacksonville on Tuesday, April 6th after which he will be laid to rest along side the family that preceded him at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, GA at 1:00pm
