My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  My name is Lisa Hoffman.  I'm a friend of Patrice's.  Sharon, when my husband passed away 11 years ago, Patrice gave me a slip of paper with the most beautiful and encouraging words.  Those words still hang on my refrigerator.  They gave me strength, hope and peace.  Now, they remind me of how lucky I am to have the love of good friends and God in my life.  I hope they help you.  God bless you and your children.

I just found out about this and I shared the news with my brother Alan. I remember Neil in our youth on Nathan Drive. I would like to express my condolences to the entire Gallagher family.

We are never prepared to lose the ones we love, and just as we all are brought into this world, each of us at one time or another will leave it.  I have lost my Mother, Dad and Brother thus far, and there is not a day that goes by that I don't wish they were here to touch and say "I love you" just one more time. The only comfort is my faith, and knowing they are in the loving arms our of Lord, just as we will be one day. We never know when our time and our job is finished on this earth, and that is why we should live and love as if today was our last. I did not have the honor of knowing Neil as so many there today did, but what I do know from the love that was in that room today, is that he touched so many hearts and by no means is gone, but instead will continue to live on through them. I have always told my son, that when my time is up, and my job here is done, it is not good bye, but instead, I'll see you on the other side. As I close, I would like to leave you with a poem that touched my heart as I hope it will yours.

The one's we love, remain with us, for love itself lives on.

And cherished memories do not fade, because a loved one's gone.  

For those we love, can never be, more than a thought apart.

And as long as there's a memory, they'll live on in the heart.

May God bless and comfort you during this difficult time, and always remember .... Neil is not gone, but instead, will simply see you one day one the other side.

To the Family of Neil, he will be truly missed especially at Wal-Mart. I, Vicki would pass him in the hall way from time to time and we would exchange kind words to one another. The words you wrote about Neil brought tears to my eyes... how blessed you both are to share such a love.  I'm so sorry that it was cut short on this earth... but comforting that it will continue in your heart until you are reunited in heaven.  My prayers are with you and your family. Neil told me a few months ago, "sometimes at night when I'm by myself I cry, I know you don't believe it but I cry and pray to GOD and thank Him for you. I'm blessed your my wife and I love you. The first time I saw you I looked into your eyes and I knew you would by my wife, it's those eyes I fell in love". Then he looked into my eyes and cupped my face in his hands and said "yep there you are, I still see that girl I love in those eyes, thank you for being my wife". At the end of his work day Neil would say "I've been thinking about you all day". He would always buy me things, flowers, clothes, anything he thought I might like, he was always trying to make me happy. We had thirty-five years together more would not be enough. I met him when I was fifteen and married at seventeen, people said it wouldn't last but 4 children, 13 grandkids and 33 years later we proved that even through extreme hardships...True Love Never Dies. People saw Neil as a big strong guy and he was, but he had another more loving side that only people closest to him knew. I love you my Sweet Sweet Man you will live in my heart until the day when we are together again. This is not goodbye, it is I'll see you when I get home. Forever My Love, my one, my only love, your wife Sharon.

People always saw him as being a big strong guy and he was , but he had another more loving side that only the people closest to him would see . Ecclesiastes 7:1 sayss A name is better than good oil, and the day of death, than the day of one's being born. Especially if we've made a good name with God. Because all those in the grave will rise, as will Neil and so many others we've lost. How I long for that day.

Uncle Neil...you and Sherry helped raise me through my teenage years. I am not sure where I would be now if it wasn't for you taking me in...I just cannot believe I am typing what a wonderful man you were...its hard to believe you are gone.... :(  Some of my happiest moments growing up were with you guys...You made Sherry so happy and I feel so lucky I shared some of those moments with yall.  I will treasure them forever. I love you and Sherry so much and I cannot thank you enough for the guidance in life you guys gave me.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
