

ENG - Nina “Marlene” Eng, age 81, beloved wife and mother, born February 8, 1935 in Madison, Florida, passed away on August 12, 2016. Marlene was born and raised in Madison and Jacksonville, Florida. Marlene graduated from Fletcher High school, earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science from Florida State University, and later a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Florida. She married Wah Hing Eng, her high school sweetheart. His family owned and operated a popular Chinese vegetable farm in Northwest Jacksonville. The farm supplied many local restaurants and sold to the public. Marlene taught Home Economics at Englewood High School, and was Guidance Counselor at Southside and Landon Middle Schools. She retired from teaching in 1994, after 27 years. Marlene was a longtime member of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church. She loved to travel with her loving husband, Wah, traveling the western US, two trips to China, Europe, Canada, and Turkey. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wah Hing Eng, her parents, B.D. Wadsworth and Kathryn Stanley Wadsworth, and her sister, Anita McDaniel. She is survived by her sons David Eng and Michael Eng (Meredith Eng), several extended family, as well as friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral home, 940 Cesery Blvd, on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd, on Saturday, August, 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, Gate 5.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marlene’s memory to Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, online donations through habchurch.com, or the American Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
