Patricia G. McAlpin Kuntz, 79, of the Del Webb Community in Nocatee, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her two sons, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born Patricia Jane Green on August 31, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia lived a vibrant life marked by resilience, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to kindness.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Green, and Dorothy Stogsdill; her daughter, Tricia McAlpin, who passed as a newborn; and her husbands, William John McAlpin (1994), Sydney Levin (2009), and Luiz Carlos Strauch Kuntz (2020). She is survived by her sons, Stuart Nelson Schaeffer McAlpin (spouse Jessica, children Serena and James) of Gainesville, Florida, and Michael Patrick McAlpin (spouse Jennifer, children Addison and Patrick) of Nocatee, Florida; and her brothers, Michael Green (spouse Judith), Jerry Green (spouse Renee), and David Green (spouse Donna), all of Cincinnati, Ohio.
A devoted Christian, Patricia faced significant health challenges, including achalasia and cancer, with extraordinary grace. Her spirit shone through her passions to help show people you can make anything elegant if you’re still on a budget. She would find great deals through thrift shopping and garage sales, where she uncovered gems. After the loss of her second husband, William John McAlpin, to cancer in 1994, Patricia, at age 49, took over his struggling business, Heritage Promotions, in St. Augustine. With determination, she restructured it to thrive for a decade, supplying labels to the postal service. In retirement, she poured her creativity into painting in her art room and continued her legacy of generosity, touching lives with acts like inviting low-income families to our family Thanksgiving or funding braces for a girl in need.
A funeral service will be held on May 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida, on San Jose Boulevard. Friends and family are warmly invited to celebrate her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Achalasia Awareness Organization (www.achalasiaawareness.org to honor Patricia’s lifelong struggle and compassionate spirit.
