

Patricia Snow was born on August 2, 1930, in Wilmington, North Carolina, the daughter of John Richard Dobson and Mary Elisabeth Welch Dobson. She grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina with her parents and her brother, John Richard Dobson, Jr., all of whom have predeceased her. Pat earned her Registered Nurse (RN) degree in 1952 from St. Leo's Sisters of Charity Nursing School, and her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) degree in 1953 from Duke University Nursing School after successfully petitioning the school to eliminate the minimum age requirement. Pat enjoyed caring for her patients and she continued to work while her first three children were young. While at Duke, Pat met John Wesley Snow, MD. They married in 1953, and enjoyed an exciting 58 years together. They lived in and traveled to many places, including Sitka, Alaska where they worked in a hospital for tuberculosis patients. She also enjoyed going on safari with John in Mozambique, Africa. Pat also had a life-long passion for music, which she instilled in her children. She was a gifted soprano who sang in many church choirs, including the Mormon Tabernacle Choir while she lived in Utah. She also performed with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and with Opera A La Carte. Pat was an active member of the Friday Musicale since 1964, and its President from 1991-1993. She was a loving, involved, and caring parent and grandparent.
She is survived by her five children; Thomas Snow, John Snow, Jr., Leslie Snow (Sean Tarleton), Stefanie Snow (Jeffrey Coopersmith) and Heather Foster (Chuck Foster); and by her five grandchildren.
