Patti was born April 29, 1964, to James O’Neill and Azucena Pollock-Quilaneta. She attended College Heights Elementary in Ypsilanti, Mich., Scarlett Junior High in Ann Arbor, Mich. and graduated in 1982 from Mayo High School in Rochester, Minn. After high school, Patti returned to Ann Arbor where she worked at the infamous WhiffleTree restaurant.
In 1986, Patti joined the Air Force, serving during Desert Storm. She was honored with “Enlisted Woman of the Year” in 1993. During her seven-year enlistment, Patti had daughters Alyssa Brianna Bourgoyne, 25, and Cristina Marie Bourgoyne, 23. Both were born at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. Following her military career, Patti became an Environmental Specialist throughout the state of Florida working in petroleum, waste-water, hazardous waste and the natural gas industry.
In 1999, Patti married her best friend and soulmate, Timothy David Lentz in Tampa Bay. The two relocated to Dexter, Mich. before moving to Jacksonville.
Patti was an extraordinary mother, wife and best friend. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping and making a difference in the lives of her family and friends. Her battle with cancer was courageous and hard-fought. She will be remembered for the stamina and strength she showed that allowed her to meet her first grandchild, Emerson Grace Hoffman (daughter of Cristina), born Dec. 5, 2013.
Patti is survived by her husband, Tim, of Tampa Bay; two daughters, Alyssa, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Cristina, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and stepdaughter, Jordan, of Zolfo Springs, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Emerson.
