Paul Arthur Brickwood Sr.

Paul A. Brickwood Sr., age 75, died of cancer on October 13, 2020, in Jacksonville, Florida. Paul is survived by his son, Paul A. Brickwood Jr (Kelly), of Jacksonville, Florida. Grandsons, Tyler and Ethan Brickwood of Jacksonville, Florida; and his cat Zilla. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Brickwood, of Camden, South Carolina; and his sister, Dorothy Lane, of Camden, New Jersey. Paul was born on November 15, 1944 in Camden, New Jersey, to parents Arthur and Dorothy Brickwood. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1963. Paul lived and worked in New Jersey, Colorado, and Florida. His love of the mountains landed him and Lois in Tennessee where he worked for the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau until July of 2020. He married Lois Elliot Hastings in 1987. The two of them together loved history and nature and, traveled the world visiting historical sites. Paul collected historical books, memorabilia and guns. He was an avid marksman and was active in the Single Action Shooting Society and The International Defensive Pistol Association. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Paul Brickwood Sr. on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at The Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. Barry Simmons will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paul’s life. The family would like to thank Lori Tierney and the members of the Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church for their help in organizing this event. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to The Gatlinburg Presbyterian Church, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Paul was a wonderful and intelligent father in law. Every time we made it to Tennessee to visit we would many great discussions about our country and the political scene. He loved our country , he loved God. He loved his family and had a lot to say about it all. We will miss seeing him.
