

Paul "Lanny" Irwin, 73, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2013. He was born to the late Paul E. Irwin and Frances English in Columbus, OH on January 2, 1940. He attended THE Ohio State University.
He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Donna Beckman Irwin; daughter, Sandi Irwin Rosato (Wendi Rosato); grandson, Nickolas Rosato; brothers, Fred Sleffel (Kay)and Pat Sleffel (Joyce); and many nieces and nephews. He proudly served 7 years in the Navy and Marines.A hard worker, he was employed from age of 7 until he retired from SMI Steel Company at age 62. It was his goal to always be able to provide a nice homeand best living for his family and pets. He adored his dogs, Lisa and Bucky. More than just an Ohio State fan, he was currently counting the days until football season. Truly loved by everyone that ever met him, he will be missed dearly. O-H-I-O!!!!!
Family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013 with a short service at 2:00 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. He will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
