Pauline Hiltz

Pauline Jones Johnson Hiltz passed away on 29 March 2021. She was born on 19 March 1924 in Saint Augustine, Florida and was raised in Saint Augustine until age 4. The family then moved to Middleburg Before moving to the area now known as Mandarin, residing in the Sunbeam area before finally moving to what today is known as old Mandarin. As an adult she resided in the Jacksonville area until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Molly Mayo Jones, a sister Mildred who died at birth, her oldest daughter Gloria Jean Hoffman, as well as her two brothers George and William Jones.

Pauline leaves to cherish her memory five children including, two daughters Kay Turrill and Susan Echols of Jacksonville and three sons David (Sandy) Johnson of Melrose, Florida, John (Kayleen) and Donald of Jacksonville, Florida.

She was a loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren, David Johnson Jr., Lauren Page (Dave), Carly Johnson, Marjorie Hopkins, Richard Hopkins Jr., Shawn Johnson, Schott Johnson, Joshua Echols, Valerie Grissom and twelve great grandchildren. She spent her later years devoted to them and will be missed dearly.

A memorial service for family and friends will be on April 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel located at 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. A private interment will be held for family of April 3, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. As with her wishes there will be no formal graveside services.
