Peggy Sawyer

Marguerite M. Sawyer, known to many as Peggy Sawyer, a beloved child of God, went to be with her Lord on August 9, 2011. Peggy was a faithful and committed member of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, attending regularly even after physical difficulties threatened to interfere. Peggy had several networks of friends as she had a special spirit which longed to connect with those around her. As a measure of her caring, Peggy was especially fond of nurturing the health and welfare of her pets and animals in general. She had seen over a long life, much of what its experiences could hold and was a source of wisdom and perspective for her fellow sojourners. She could recount an impressive inventory of stories from her past to both entertain and instruct. Peggy’s example leaves its mark on the lives of her friends and those who saw her steadfast witness. Certainly she will be missed. Peggy is predeceased by her parents, Myrtle Williamson Sawyer and Thomas Sawyer. A burial service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 led by Dr. Vince Kolb for those who would like to share in the celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in her name to South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, 2137 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
