She met her husband, Gene, in 1948. They were married and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1948 to start a new life. Their first residence in Jacksonville was above a storefront on 8th and Main Street. They were excited to move to the suburbs in 1952 – Greenfield Manor was one of the first neighborhoods created after WW II. Phoebe lived her life to care for and love her family. She was a superb cook, cake decorator, and gardener. She was always there for her children – Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA, and school projects. And she was a treasured grandmother giving such unconditional love and cheering her grandchildren on at every event and activity. Phoebe was a beloved sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother who left behind many cherished memories.
Phoebe is survived by her four children, Connie Doss Egan, Gene Doss, Betsy Doss Giblin, and Gary Doss, as well as her 3 grandchildren, Melissa Hutton, Ryan Giblin, and Grace Giblin and her sister, Catherine Conrad Guardia. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Eugene Doss. Phoebe passed away peacefully in the company of her family, surrounded by their love.
Eternal rest grant unto Phoebe, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
A private family service will be held on March 11, 2022.
