Phyllis Denson Busby

Phyllis Denson Busby, age 77, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 5, 2018. She was born January 14, 1941 in Gadsden, Al. and graduated Gadsden High School in the class of 1958. She married John M. Busby (Jack), September 2, 1964 and celebrated over 50 years of marriage before his passing March 1, 2015. They were previous residents of Birmingham, Al. Gainesville, Fl. Welaka, Fl. before settling in Jacksonville, Fl. in 1984.

Phyllis enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her family and many friends. She loved hosting her community friends at their home, cooking, baking, crafting, and flower arranging. She and Jack traveled the world during their 50 years of marriage.

Everyone she met has a Phyllis story. She loved life and blessed everyone with smiles and sunshine. She had a great sense of humor and enriched the lives of those she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents Robert and Martha Denson and grandson Major Harding III. She is survived by her daughter Liz Harding and her husband Major, Jr., three grandchildren, John Harding, Kyle Harding and wife Erica, Katherine Seal and husband Curtis, great-grandson Major Lee Harding, brothers Leslie Denson and wife Mary, Bobby Denson and sister Becca Raysin and husband Harry, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many cousins and her beloved dog Lulu. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held at Mandarin Cemetery on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Chaplain Glen A. Busby, Captain, United States Navy, Retired.
