Ramona Jean Maxwell

Ramona Jean Maxwell of Jacksonville, Florida. Died on January 24th, 2026, age 90. Born June 1st, 1935, in Harrisburg Illinois. To the late Robert E. McDowell and Doris Evelyn (Hensley). Preceded in death by husband and the Love of her Life, John F. Maxwell. Sons John Henry, and William Ross and Daughter-in-law, (Charmain). Her Special 2nd MOM Sarah Kathleen McDowell, brother Ray Dunivan, sister Sharon Ann Bennett. Survived by daughter in law Marilyn Maxwell. Grandchildren, John Michael (Sally). Christine (Kevin) and Michelle Peretto. Also 5 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grand Children. Sister Mary D. Kelley (Mike) and Brother Robert S. McDowell.

Ramona moved to Michigan (by herself) around the age of 18 from Harrisburg, Illinois.

She got a job with the IRS and later with The Department of Defense, where she met the Love of her Life John F. Maxwell. They married on Aug.27th 1965 and moved to Florida in 1971. They were Happily Married for 23 years until John's passing in 1988. Ramona retired in 1985 at age 50, she was also married to Joseph Delgado from 1998-2003 at his death.

She loved cross stitching and her little dog Molly. She was Loved by everyone dearly and will be missed. Ramona was laid to rest with John at Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
