Ray was born on March 12th 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He started his first job at what became CSX as a mail clerk in 1956 and worked his way up to sales manager in the automotive dept., kickstarting a 40 year career at CSX. His time at CSX moved them from Pittsburgh to Detroit, to Youngstown, to Kansas City, to Saginaw, back to Detroit, Baltimore and finally Jacksonville.
In 1954, Ray met Elaine while attending school at St. George in Pittsburgh, Pa.. Ray and Elaine were married in 1958 and went on to have 2 children, Lisa and Terry.
In 1996, Ray, retired and spent his time dabbling with photography, fishing, learning new musical instruments, collecting tools and in his later years, being a couch potato.
Ray was predeceased by his daughter Terry. He is survived by Elaine, his daughter Lisa, 7 grandchildren, Carrie, Tod, Sara,Jason,Adam,Jessie and Eric and 7 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Church of Our Saviour on March 12th at 11:00 am.
