Redo, born August 4, 1942, in Collepietro, Italy, moved to the United States with his family in 1960. As a highly decorated United States Army solider, Redo honorably served close to 28 years, actively supporting his adopted country. Upon retiring, he became a civil servant with the Department of the Army and Defense Commissary Agency, continuing his life long mission - supporting the troops around the world. During his service, he lived and served at various postings in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, and the battle fronts of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. Redo was a man of principal who opened his home to friends and colleagues on a regular basis. He believed in a “one team” concept, encouraging comraderary, esprit de corps, and cooperation at all levels. The relationships he built have withstood the test of time and distance with family friends dating back more than 50 years. His generosity, wisdom, and guidance will be forever missed, as a soldier, a leader of men, a husband, a brother, a dad, and a grandfather.
Upon hearing of his passing, family friends were quick to note that he was “one of a kind and larger than life" and left a big impression on their lives. Others shared stories of days gone by, reminiscing about meals at the Nolletti house, office barbecues, fast cars and travel around the world.
Redo will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, at a date to be determined later.
Redo spent his last year participating in clinical trials to aid in a cure for leukemia. As such, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
