

She was born February 20, 1924 and raised by her parents Roland and Mary Maner. She spent the majority of her life in Jacksonville where she and her late husband owned Hill's Laundry and Cleaners for 52 years. She took a great deal of pride in providing her customers with great service. Many customers were like family to Mrs. Hill. Mrs. Hill loved to travel, tell stories and put puzzles together with her grandchildren.
Retha was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Emmett Hill, her son, Theodore Hill "Ted", her brothers George and Buck Maner and her sister Mildred Gamel.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughters, Retha Hill and Claudette Hill Thomas; her son, Oscar Emmett Hill "Buddy" (Kerry); her daughter-in-law, Carol Hill; her granddaughters, Retha Lee (Mike), Rheta O'Connor (Chris), Katheryne and Amanda Thomas, Carol Faye Wells, Elisabeth Carver (Kyale)and Leah Hill Starner; her grandson, Johnlewis Hill (Danielle); her great grandchildren, Jessica and Erica Lee, Christopher, Zackary and Paris O'Connor, Kyra Thomas, Lillie and Leila Starner and Avery Hill; her sisters, Frances Varnes (Doyle) and Virginia Lahay, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of Mrs. Hill's life will be held for family at a later date.
