Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Reva Jean Stamey, age 86, passed peacefully on Wednesday January 16th, 2019 in Saint Augustine, Florida. She was the daughter of Anna Elizabeth Collins, who passed in 1935, and Kenneth Orr, who passed in 1945. She married Henry Harold Stamey in 1952, who passed in 1992.
She was the primary caregiver to her five children She worked as a bookkeeper, in retail, and in a glass factory. She was a feisty and fun woman that loved to laugh. She loved games. She was a darts champion in the 80s and 90s, she won trophies as tall as she was and was the undisputed Pac Man champion of 1976 (at the Houlihans Pan Man machine in the back corner). She was Outshine's best fruit bar customer!
She is survived by many loved ones. Her children, Carol and Beck Corbin of St. Augustine, Roland Stamey of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Harold Stamey of Savannah, Georgia, Anna Thompson of St. Simons Island, Georgia, and Michael Stamey of Jacksonville, Florida. Her grandchildren, Jeanie Brown, Jennifer Stamey, Mitchell Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Alex Stamey, and Aaron Stamey. Her great-grandchildren, Dylan Brown, Julian Armiger, and Lance Armiger.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
