Richard Joseph Bresson, age 96 of Westminster Woods Julington Creek, died on the 9th of August, 2025. Born November 19, 1928, in Wooster, Ohio, to Clara Buchholtz and Leon Bresson, husband of Marie (of blessed memory) since September 1, 1958. He was the father of Phillip (Nancy), Theresa Levy (Philip), and Michelle Bresson. Grandchildren Bernard Levy (Megan), Marie-Claire Bishop (Bobby), Daniel Bresson (of blessed memory), and Joseph Bresson (Sheila), and great grandchildren Anthony and Amilia Bresson. After serving as a sergeant in the army, He graduated at the top of his class from The Ohio State University with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering. Richard “Dick” started his career designing cameras for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY, spending his summers in Mabou, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He enjoyed woodworking, woodturning, racing Thistle class sailboats at the Rochester Canoe Club and adventures off the beaten path. He never needed a car mechanic, plumber, electrician, or carpenter since he could do everything himself. He retired from Kodak and moved to Jekyll Island and eventually Jacksonville/St Johns. Those who knew and loved him will miss his ability to fix anything, give solid advice about anything mechanical, and being a devoted husband, father and friend. He was always one to tell it like it is and enjoyed being teased about it. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of NE FL and Westminster Woods Julington Creek.
