Richard Elton Jones, 80, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. Mr. Jones was born December 23, 1937 to the late Joseph and Julia Jones. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Oceanway area of Jacksonville. Richard was a plumber by trade and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Jones and Raymond Jones. Survivors include two daughters, Tina Johnson (George) and Amy Doyle (Mickey); one Son, Richard B. Jones (DeAnne); two sisters, Amelia Strickland and Nadine Mercer (Jimmy) one brother, Fred Jones (Glenda); 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 14, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Pastor Ben Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Hilliard, Florida. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
