I only met Rick once; at a domain name conference in Miami in early 2008. For some reason, we quickly formed a bond (that had never happened to me before with a complete stranger) and spent time at the conference at meals, sessions and happy hour. He told me that he had recently lost 70 lbs and he always took time out from the conference sessions to work out. Even though we only periodically corresponded via email, that bond never went away. Even though I didn't get to spend time with him, I'll miss him.

Rick was a special friend from those college days long long ago.  He had a gentleness about him, a quiet -on- the -sideline demeanor. His later observations were very keen and right on.  We delighted in his humor and zest for life. The world is a sadder place without him.  God bless the family and we will continue our prayers for him.  Love Margie and Jorge Morales
