Richard Kuebbing, originally from Covington, KY, passed away on August 30, 2022. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Vera. He is survived by his partner of 20 years Kathy, his 2 children Kirk and Teresa and their spouses, Kathy’s children (Michelle, Virginia, Elizabeth, and Karen) and their spouses, his 2 brothers Tom and Dan, 10 grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews. Richard spent the beginning of his career in academia earning a Doctorate of Philosophy in Physics while working in various positions within the university. He ultimately found a passion in computer programming where he spent the remainder of his career.
Richard’s life was always anchored to his strong Catholic faith. He was an active member of the Church his entire life serving in a number of ways from singing in the choir starting at the age of 6 and for the remainder of his life, serving as an altar boy, a lector and a eucharistic minister, ministering to the sick, serving in the Knights of Columbus, and tithing like he was trying to pay it forward. Richard had an inobtrusive kindness that touched everyone he met and is already sorely missed. He would want his obituary to end with the following: “Peace be with you!”
His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 26 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta, GA before his ashes are interred in the Memorial Garden there. Friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
