He was born in Tampa, FL and moved to Jacksonville, FL as an infant. He retired from two occupations, the City of Jacksonville as a foreman and the Duval County School Board as a painter. Richard was a man who loved to laugh, tell jokes and funny stories. He was a very kind and generous man. He enjoyed quality time with his wife that included going to church, traveling, country music and spending time with his little dog Chico.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, of 32 years, Eunice Leake; his daughter, Mollie Mattocks; his grandchildren, Ashley Mattocks and Brittany Waters; his great grandson, Christopher Briones; his brothers, Leslie and Ted; and his sisters, Donna and Jackie.
He was preceded in death by his sweet daughter Gina Leake.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15th in St. Joseph's Historic Church, 4152 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
